In the follow up to Inheritance, Lissa Kasey continues Seiran's story that stands just as strong if not stronger than the first title. With Reclamation Seiran is not only the Pilar but he's a broken man who faces the hardest of obstacles daily. Not even his brother Jamie can save him the harsh words, the looks, the downright meanness from the other oddities of this world. I mean, this poor boy was abused all his life, his mother? Oh please, what a piece of...well you get the picture. She isn't so much seen in this book but it's due to her that he's the mess he is. The chemistry between Seiran and Gabe, his vampire lover is just outstanding. Lissa has created these characters and given them vastly different personalities and fleshed them out so well that I have fallen totally and completely in love with them. Gabe has the patience of Job and he loves, no he adores, no he is totally in love with Seiran and the amazing sacrifices he goes through for his lover just melted my heart.Seiran is now in counseling by request of the Dominion due to his misadventure from the last story...he also was instructed to teach a class in college as punishment, so the guy has his hands full. Now, if you'll remember he suffers badly from OCD, and he ends up hurting his hands so badly midway through the book that sadly he is in bandages and such well until the end. Seiran is on the road to recovery, but once again, he is haunted by his past. People die all around him, and not the right ones. Then he begins to see his ex, the ass who abused him since the age of eleven and things get worse. You will need tissue. I'm serious. Just...when you're reading this one, please don't throw your reader...it'll pay off.And in case you're wondering what order to read this series in here it is: Now, I only reviewed the two novels. I did read the shorts in between them and I suggest you do the same:FrictionDecadenceResoluteInheritanceReclamationConsequencesReviewed By: Michele

By Nikyta I'm so in love with this series it's not even funny. This one deals with the after math of what Seiran goes through at the hands of Brock. He's damaged more than before and is now required to see a psychiatrist. Instead of the psychiatrist healing Seiran it seems as if he's getting worse, though. On top of that, Seiran is getting memories of an abusive ex and getting threatening emails and calls. All this starts to cause friction not just between Seiran and Gabe but with Jamie as well.I feel like with each story written the series becomes better and better. I enjoyed this one more than Inheritance and I think that's because in the last one Gabe seemed distant and always busy whereas in this one he's around more, trying to comfort Seiran as best as possible. I still adored both Seiran and Gabe although I wish Seiran would talk to Gabe more and trust him but he has commitment issues so I understand. I fell in love all over again with Jaime. There's just something about him that makes me want to grab him for myself. He's so protective and sweet, a mother-hen really. Kelly really became a part of the story this time and proved himself to be a great friend. The beginning of this book starts off with a bang that leaves you anxious throughout the book, anticipating something awful to come. For me, that was exactly what I was looking for so I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for horrible things to come but riveted to the screen. As with the rest of this series, I couldn't put this one down once I started it. It's much more suspenseful than Inheritance was and I loved seeing Gabe and Seiran get closer and seeing Seiran come to a decision as to what Gabe means to him.All in all, a fabulous series. I had a few questions at the end but that never hindered my enjoyment of the story and these characters. So looking forward to more of Seiran and Gabe! Love myself the lynx and vampire pair!

I was so entranced by Sei, Gabe, Jamie, and Kelly, that I almost ignored the other books in queue and just jumped into this 'Dominion' series, with both feet. Almost. 'Reclamation' is book two in Lissa Kasey's incredible series. After what happened to Sei at the end of the previous book, I just wanted to protect him, even though he's proven he's more than capable of killing in self-defense. It broke my heart, though, to watch Brock abuse and rape him, before Sei was able to kill him. Since Brock had killed Rose, Sei became the Pillar of Earth, as the magic recognized and accepted him. All of this has caused serious repercussions. There has never been a male Pillar, and the Dominion, along with its members, are not happy. Sei continues to receive threatening and harassing phone calls, all while, at the Dominion's "request", attending therapy twice a week. Plus, because of the rape, Sei is having difficulty being truly intimate with Gabe. I think you get the picture, right? Sei's life is even more messed up than it was before. Now, if you learned anything at all about Sei from book one, then you know about his OCD, and his general feelings of worthlessness. The attack has brought on a heavy depression, and medication doesn't work on him, and Sei feels like a nuisance to the people in his life, which makes him feel worse, and the cycle continues. His psychiatrist starts having Sei undergo hypnosis to help him work through his feelings. Unfortunately, that simply brings up old memories, particularly of Matthew, who was Sei's first lover. Matthew took advantage of Sei when he was eleven, and they were both at military school. Matthew whored Sei out, telling him it was to keep Matthew from getting bored with him. As you can see, this was influential in how Sei views himself and his worth. But now it looks like Matthew is back, and stalking Sei. Except Matthew died in a car accident five years ago.Once again, the author has truly impressed me with an astonishing tale or love, heartache, and sacrifice. Although, if poor Sei keeps almost getting killed, there's not going to be much left of him. I loved the ending, and I'm so glad the author didn't leave me hanging. I would've been very upset if that happened. I can wholeheartedly recommend this series.
