By Daz Pulsford This is a tale of two journals: that of the increasingly terrified crew who fund the casket in the Temple - and their encounters with the dark malevolent force within, and the second of the Inquisitor tasked with unlocking the secrets of the mysterious presence brought back.Cleverly intertwined - the horror builds first as the crew realise they have unleashed their own doom - and is mirrored by the slow but equally terrifying revelation of the Inquisitor as he works on the casket's secrets.

One portion of the tale is told in the Captain's voice, the other portion by the Grand Inquisitor himself. It's hard to say much more without spoiling anything. But I will say, this short put me in mind of the old school shorts in magazines like Weird Tales. If you enjoyed those, you will enjoy this.

There's the perfect, slow build-up to horror and the perfect telling of the story from two different perspectives. I highly recommend this story -- just don't read it at night, if you plan on getting any sleep!
